Verdant Veil

The Verdant Veil are an order of druids sworn to the service of the Fairy Queen of Aboreum. Traditionally, they operate only on Arboreum, where they serve as watchers of the great forests. Later, in order to help combat the Blackhole menace, they expand their operations across the Milky Way Galaxy, working to restore the balance of nature wherever they are needed.

The majority of their ranks are made up of sylvans, one of Arboreum's several species of living tree brought to life under the Fairy Queen's spell. They are highly-skilled archers, hunters and woodsmen, capable of seeing clearly in the darkest of forests, and they are agile also, being able to hop silently between the treetops, leaving their prey none the wiser.

The Verdant Veil do not worship or offer prayer to any god, though they do consider the Fairy Queen to be a divine manifestation of nature itself, and their duty is therefore to serve her in any way they can. They deeply loathe the Order of the Galactic Halo, and the Order of the Event Horizon even moreso, considering them both forces for destruction.

In brighter times, Arboreum was something of a sanctuary, and the Verdant Veil were a force for order and for peace. The massacre of the faunicorn species under their care, by agents of the Order of the Event Horizon, has seen a shift in attitude for the Verdant Veil, who now treat outsiders with the utmost suspicion. Their archers now snipe agents of the enemy on sight, and those who wander into their forests without their blessing are not guaranteed to come out again. Without the faunicorns' beautiful music, the forests have fallen silent and darkness has crept into them once more.

There is nothing to stop them from being on friendly terms with Kinoko, the Star Heretic, should their goals ever align.

Their symbol is a golden sun with eight spokes of light.
