We’ve moved!
Published by James on 14/03/2026Hey Kinoko fans! Notice anything new?
As of this afternoon, I’ve completed the process of moving the Star Heretic website over from cultofgalaxy.com to starheretic.com – making starheretic.com the new official home for all things Star Heretic!
Although I did take the opportunity to make a few additional changes under the hood, for the most part it’s just a straight swap from one domain to another. All existing Cult of Galaxy links and bookmarks will, for the time being, redirect automatically to their Star Heretic equivalent. Everything else is exactly the same as it was yesterday, so you can still visit our ‘explore the galaxy’ section and check out Ranson’s biography and artwork as often as you like. (We don’t know who you are, but you do…)
Don’t worry, this isn’t the end of the old Cult of Galaxy address – far from it in fact. Cult of Galaxy remains the name of our two-person game studio, and in time I intend to reflect that with the launch of a dedicated website for our studio, where we’ll be able to hold more information about our business, our job postings, and our professional services. I’ll gradually move all studio-specific information off this website, dedicating this one entirely to Star Heretic and its lore. This isn't an immediate priority for me, though, particularly it’s usually necessary to give it a few months at least after a change of domain name before recycling the old one. This gives search engines such as Google the chance to recognise the swap and update our place in the search rankings, without forcing us to start rebuilding our domain authority from scratch.
It will also make things neater when we get around to launching our Bovine Excision website, which is in development currently. 👀
Anyway, I just thought I should formally announce the transfer. As I said already, for now all existing cultofgalaxy.com links will redirect seamlessly to their starheretic.com counterparts, so there’s nothing for you to do or worry about in order to continue following our game’s development. In time, we will put the cultofgalaxy.com domain to use on our corporate website, but we’re under no immediate pressure to do that, so we have plenty of time to allow the change to settle in the meantime.
As always, any and all feedback on our website is welcome. If you have any suggestions for us, let us know!
Until next time.
